Bavaria, Germany and the EU are confronting the challenges of balancing the needs to protect the environment, support the slowdown of climate change, at the same time continue to grow economically at a sustainable pace.

The EU has laid out its proposal for the Green Deal, the German government has passed its first climate change legislation and the state of Bavaria is on board with its own climate protection legislation which seeks to be a model for the other states in Germany. It remains to be seen how all these will be implemented and what the additional challenges for industry, society and our economies will be. 

The vbw supports efforts to strengthen research in sustainable, affordable and clean energy sources for our industry. The state of Bavaria must maintain its competitive advantage both as a place to do business and as a hub of innovation and innovative technologies. Our future depends on it.
