The vbw Council for the Future of the Bavarian Economy - Part 5: Technological applications
The vbw Council for the Future of the Bavarian Economy has showcased innovative Bavarian technologies that are aimed at tackling challenges like globalization, demographic change as well as questions around the supply of energy and resources and climate change.
The Invenox GmbH - innovation in electric mobility
The Invenox GmbH, a spin-off of the Institute of Automotive Technology at the Technical University Munich, is pushing the limits in electric mobility. Invenox has developed the Conchifera Technology, a novel method to interconnect lithium-ion battery cells. Advantages are a gentle and cost-efficient manufacturing process, a high energy density of the battery packs, good cooling properties and the exchange of individual cells. Conchifera battery modules can be built in different sizes, shapes and voltages. Thus, they are suitable for a large variety of applications.
The Invenox batteries are for instance used in the electric concept car Visio.M, a further innovative product in the electric mobility sector developed at the Technical University Munich together with renowned industry partners such as BMW, Daimler, Continental and Siemens. Visio.M applies new concepts in drive technology, safety, air conditioning, IT and lightweight construction. With a mere 535 kg of net weight it represents an innovative approach to urban mobility.
In upcoming issues of the newsletter we will introduce further technological applications developed in Bavaria and showcased through the Council for the Future of the Bavarian Economy.
