Bertram Brossardt - Executive Vice President and CEO
Bertram Brossardt has served as CEO since 2005 and since 2007 as the Executive Vice President and CEO of the Bavarian Industry Association of Metalworking and Electrical Enterprises (bayme), the Employers’ Association of Bavarian Metalworking and Electrical Industries (vbm) and the Bavarian Industry Association (vbw).
In these positions, he seeks to strengthen the competitiveness of Bavarian businesses. Currently, the work of the associations focuses on cultivating the ideal circumstances for the digitalization of the Bavarian economy, providing support for businesses in their efforts to internationalize their enterprises as well as developing competitive economic conditions for the Bavarian industry as a whole.
From 1998 to 2004, Mr. Brossardt held leading positions with the Bavarian Ministry for Economic Affairs, Transport and Technology. First, as the Executive Managing Director, responsible for Bavaria’s Foreign Investments Worldwide and later as the Executive Managing Director and Head of Foreign Investments and International Trade.
From 1993 to 1998, Mr. Brossardt held the position of Chief of Staff to the Bavarian Minister of the Bavarian Ministry for Economic Affairs, Transport and Technology. In 1987, he joined the Bavarian Ministry of Science as Administrative Liaison for Research Promotion, and in 1992 he became Chief of Staff to the State Secretary of the Bavarian Ministry of Science.
Mr. Brossardt received his Diploma of Jurisprudence from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich in 1988. He served in the German Military 1978 – 1979 and is member of the Administrative Council of the Federal Labor Office, Member of the Board of the Bavarian Economic Advisory Council and Lay member at the Federal Labor Court.
